CORE BELIEFS

Within Newark Community Church, we strongly believe that having a strong foundation in our core beliefs provides our members and community with 5 integral beliefs that sustain our daily Christian lives. If we exemplify and live these core beliefs, we are one step closer to reaching more souls for the Kingdom of Heaven!

Discipleship

Discipleship was Jesus’ method of winning the world to Himself. In fact, Jesus converted very few people in His earth ministry in a clear-cut way. He literally staked His whole ministry on twelve men. As popular as He was during His earthly ministry, Jesus did not focus on the momentary applause of men but quietly poured His life in those who would multiply. Jesus was not trying to impress the crowd, but usher in a kingdom. Christ expects His followers to be fruitful,6 but often we are not without external motivation and accountability.

Matthew 28:18-20 "Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Fellowship

Fellowship is first the sharing together in a common life with other believers through relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Fellowship is first and foremost a relationship, rather than an activity. The principle is that any activity that follows, should come out of the relationship.
Acts 2:42 "They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

Integrity

Integrity is a determination of the heart. Integrity is the unwavering determination in the heart to do right no matter what. Integrity leaves a legacy. A righteous man or woman walks in integrity and provides a path for his or her children to follow.
Proverbs 20:7  “A righteous man who walks in his integrity; How blessed are his sons after him.”

Outreach

Outreach is meeting the needs of our community and world while expressing God’s love in ways that build relationship and provide opportunities to share God’s plan of salvation. We are commanded to evangelize and expected to grow.
Mark 16:15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation."

Worship

True worship, is defined by the priority we place on who God is in our lives and where God is on our list of priorities. True worship is a matter of the heart expressed through a lifestyle of holiness. Your lifestyle should express the beauty of holiness through an extravagant or exaggerated love for God while living in submission to God.

1 Chronicles 16:23-31 "Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place. Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!”
